Recent Success Story: KMI Designs
www.kmidesigns.com
KMI's Issues:
-
Need to communicate data between managers, contractors and partners located
in different cities around the United States.
-
Spending a lot of time updating their information in various databases in an effort
to collaborate on projects.
-
Managing several projects at a time, each with different tasks, deliverables and
start/end dates.
TOBI's Solutions:
-
TOBI's innovative architecture synchronizes multiple
databases across various locations for efficient collaboration and information sharing.
-
TOBI's integrated suite manages Accounting, Customer, Resource and Project information
in place, keeping everything accessible and up-to-date.
-
TOBI's Project Portfolio Management application manages an unlimited number of projects,
each with distinct atttributes, task lists, works assignments and start/end dates.
Results:
KMI Designs has been experiencing significant growth, taking on several new projects
in a short period of time, which has dramatically increased the amount of information
they have to manage. KMI needed to improve their ability
to collaborate on projects and manage their internal business information.
TOBI allowed KMI to cost effectively consolidate all of their business information
in one integrated system, gain control over their compounding data and improve their
efficiency in managing multiple projects.
"Delivering projects on time and within budget is critical to our customers and our company philosophy,”
said Melita McCaskill, KMI’s principal owner. “Different projects have
different needs, and we wanted something that would allow us to share changing information
with all of our managers and contractors.
TOBI delivered the necessary platform for us to share information so we can better collaborate on projects and handle issues before
they affect project outcomes.” Prior to using TOBI, KMI spent a lot of time trying to synchronize their information
across locations.
Now, KMI is able to automatically synchronize and share
critical business information between their Atlanta and Charlotte offices.
Each location maintains its own TOBI database, and
using TOBI’s Data Harvester, the EDI utility, these databases communicate consistently.
And, because their data is also stored locally, it is available when KMI’s employees
are traveling or on a site without an internet connection.
"One of the key attributes of the TOBI system that was attractive to us is was the
ability to access information whether we were online or offline,” said Melita.
“With TOBI, our business is able to continue even if we are without an internet
connection.”
Because TOBI is built on a flexible, scalable architecture, the system will be able
to grow with KMI’s business over time.
As they take on more projects, add more users and
expand into different locations, TOBI will be able to accommodate each change without
interrupting the infrastructure already in place.
TOBI will satisfy both
KMI Designs’ short and long term needs, and will never have to be replaced.
