TOBI simplifies database management by allowing you to easily control the security and operation of
your TOBI databases without any programming. Notably, TOBI is equipped with
Data Harvester,
which lets non-technical users control the submission, extraction and updating of information between multiple
databases.
Key Features and Benefits:
TOBI’s Data Harvester: Electronic Data Interchange
TOBI’s Data Harvester supports the importing and exporting of data between a variety of formats,
including XML, HTML, dBase, QuickBooks,
MS Excel, Outlook, Access, SQL and
plain text files, as well as other TOBI databases. This utility brings powerful data integration
and exchange procedures to non-technical personnel. Users may easily synchronize data between databases of various
formats in an intuitive and simple manner that does not require any programming skills.

Database Login and Security Features
TOBI offers unparalleled customization and usability through its database creation and maintenance
functions. Unfortunately, with such remarkable flexibility come many security issues. Therefore, TOBI
supports two important levels of data security:
- Database Login Security
- Application and Screen Access Security
The first level of security manages various people’s access to any particular database in TOBI. This
feature offers customizable database access; you can create numerous databases and allow a distinct set
of users’ to access each one. For instance, a TOBI environment may allow individuals in the
accounting department access to only relevant financial data while people in customer service can only
access customer records, and all the while managers may work with a unique database that combines up-to-date
information from each of the two.
The second level of security manages each user’s rights of use within a particular database. A
TOBI System Administrator can manage and define each user's database privileges in terms of which TOBI
applications and functions a user is authorized to use after logging into any given database. These
privileges may be tailored for any and every individual user, or copied from one user to be applied department-wide.
Organizations may also create standard user access roles or profiles and apply them to new employees or across departments.

Auto Processing Scheduler and AutoPilot
TOBI’s Auto Processing Scheduler and AutoPilot applications allow you to schedule procedures and/or
programs to be queued for execution according to a defined schedule. These two features are particularly
useful in a multi-database configuration where you need to automate the transfer and updating of data between
various databases. TOBI’s AutoPilot application monitors the Scheduler and executes specified EDI or other
procedures on a regular basis.
In a network environment involving the interchange of large amounts of data between multiple TOBI and other
databases, you may run the AutoPilot on a dedicated network PC for better performance. Furthermore, in an
intensive distributed database environment, you may run the AutoPilot utility on multiple network PCs to
increase data interchange performance and reliability between multiple TOBI and other databases.
